The rathole is a drilled hole that is a storage place for the kelly shuck which is generally sleaved with casing.

 

The mousehole is a drilled hole which varies in depth depending on rig and is used for rapid connections while drilling. This hole is sleaved with casing and contains a joint or multiple joints of drill pipe that will be used on the next connection.
